On my wishlist this week: NUANCE Salma Hayek

CVS/pharmacy presents Nuance Salma Hayek: An Introduction

So I'm pretty late in discovering Salma Hayek's NUANCE beauty line but hey, it's better late than never eh? Nuance, which was created by Salma Hayek with CVS in 2011 offers a wide range of beauty products from eye make-up remover to body scrub. The idea behind the brand is to offer great quality products at pocket friendly prices. Unfortunately the line is still not available in the UK so I'll just have to keep lusting over the products until something is done to make NUANCE Salma Hayek available to UK customers! Here are just a few of the products that caught me eye:

Nuance Salma Hayek Anti-Aging Wrinkle Filler EyeSerum
As I mentioned in my last post I've never worried about anti-aging gimicks before until the whole sleep line thing started to make me slightly obsessive! This is what CVS says about it: "Nuance Salma Hayek Anti-Aging Wrinkle Filler Eye Serum is a rollerball with acacia senegal gum & vitamin C. Nuance Salma Hayek  Hydrating Balm Rose Petal

With evening primrose oil and shea butter goodness along with lots of other natural moisturisers such as beeswax and jojoba oil this must be a real treat for the lips while providing a bit of colour at the same time. These are just a few of the products I'd like to try, everything else in the NUANCE Salma Hayek line looks just as inviting! The line also has make-up for the eyes, lips and face including primer, tinted moisturiser, eyeshadow quads, a nifty three in one "creamy eyeshadow, shimmery highlighter and eyeliner" product and so on. As I mentioned above none of the products are available in the UK as of yet so hopefully they're working on that and the line will be available at some point at a UK supplier. Do correct me if I'm wrong! What do you think of the products I've mentioned? Have you tried any NUANCE Salma Hayek products?

My newest beauty fav... from my kitchen cupboard!

sunflower babies

I've never been one to worry too much about aging or wrinkles and only really started moisturising properly about a couple of years ago when I realised that oily skin needs a good moisturiser just as mush as other skin types do. However lately, every morning I had been noticing that I would wakeup with a really discrete fine line under my left eye. I had heard about 'sleep lines' before and I knew this line under my eye was because I sleep mostly on my left side. To rectify this problem I figured I just needed to use a heavier duty moisturiser under my eyes so I started to use E45 before I went to bed. The line didn't completely go away but it would be more prominent if I didn't use the E45. I wanted better results dammit! While thinking about what else I could use I decided that if I used something with a high level of vitamin E maybe I'd see better results, so, I gave my normal kitchen sunflower oil a whirl and wayhey! The next day the line was less noticeable than before! During the following the days the line quickly became practically non existent! I still use the E45 together with the oil (after I apply the oil), but if I had to choose one thing it would probably be the oil. So there you go, my newest beauty fav found in my kitchen! ♥

Review: Eyeshadow palettes by Fraulein, Fash & La Femme

I recently bought a few eyeshadow palettes on Amazon which I've been loving, so I thought I'd do a post about them as I think they're well worth the mention for being such great value for money!

I bought four palettes; two buy Fash, one by Fraulein and one by La Femme. The latter is a very shimmery palette and the Fash and Fraulein palettes all have a mixture of matte and shimmer colours. All palettes have okay pigmentation, of course I wasn't expecting anything amazing for the price but the colour pay off for most of the shadows are alright without using any eyelid primer or base. And besides, I wasn't too worried about this as my main reason for buying the palettes was being able to experiment with loads of different colours without having to fork out loads of money for higher end stuff or buying lots of cheaper smaller palettes. I can't remember exactly what I paid for the palettes when I bought them but they were all around or under £10. The La Femme one was the cheapest and is only £4.20 on Amazon right now! You have to get them when they've got a big discount as the 'normal' price is usually something like £20 which I think is quite a lot for the quality of the palettes.

All the following pictures of the palettes are a mixture of flash and no flash pictures.

Here is the La Femme shimmer palette.

FASH warm palette

Lots of colours to play with, eh? I read somewhere that all these types of multi coloured palettes (Coastal Scents and Blush Professionals included) are made in the factories so I wasn't too bothered about what brand I got before I bought the palettes. At first I wasn't going to buy the Fraulein palette but when I happened to come across it I noticed the colours are a lot more vibrant than the FASH palette.

Here are some pictures of when I've used the palettes.

Excuse the unruly brows in the top picture! Notice how in the green look the eyeshadow is slightly faded. I had taken the picture after I had got home from a night out. Gives you an idea how the eyeshadows last without a primer. With this look I used a green cream eyeshadow from FCUK together with the FASH palette and with the pink look I used a Helena Rubinstein individual shadow called Plumb Cognac as the outer colour. The rest of the pink colours are all from the La Femme shimmer palette. In case you are wondering I'm wearing L'oreal's Extra-Volume Collagene Mascara in the pink look and Maybelline's Define-A-Lash Mascara in the green. My lower lashes aren't very dramatic as I only ever wear clear mascara on them and just put a little of the dark mascara on the eyelash ends and in the corners.

Verdict: Great for experimenting loads and loads of different looks on a budget! Like I said, the pigmentation isn't amazing or anything but if you're looking to try out different looks without having to go out and buy lots of smaller palettes or even individual eyeshadows this is your best bet. Using these palettes also helps you determine which colours suit you best. Like the La Femme palette has a beautiful cobalt-ish blue colour which I tired out once but didn't really look nice on me when I used it as it didn't compliment my skin tone, so I don't think I would buy anything similar if I were to come across something like that of better quality. It would definitely look good on someone with a cool skin tone like Courtney Cox for example. Overall I like the palettes and definitely recommend them! Just remember to wait for them to go on sale if you do decide to give them a go.

Nails of The Week

Now that I've managed to transfer some pictures to my computer I thought I'd show you what I was wearing on my nails last week. I was wearing a beautiful creamy blue - Estilo Livre Beauty Colour - teamed with an amazing shiny glitter polish by Eliana's (she's a famous Brazilian TV personality) 'Fashion Chrome' range called Absolute .

I really love the Fashion Chrome range from Eliana, the line has more than a few beautiful glittery colours. This blue nail polish has some flecks of different colours in it which gives it an extra special touch. Similar nail polishes to these two that I found were AWOL by Topshop and Absolutely Alice by OPI.
